The first QAnon ‘update’ happened in October 2017. The figures I saw dealing in untruths and Fascist propaganda were actual people with an identifiable agenda. They distorted the world, but still referred to reality, even if only vaguely. When I thought of disinformation war, I thought of Russian ‘Bot farms and Cambridge Analytica. Their methodologies and practices are deranged and terrifying, though I can comprehend the logic of their purpose. QAon is totally decentralised, irrational, discursive and rabid.
