This was a self-initiated project to go deeper into typography and to apply the logic and techniques of design to fine art works. Quotations gave each piece a starting point. Although the imagery became far more prominent, typography is the thread that unifies the collection: not just for the inclusion of text, but as a fundamental part of each work.

The pieces are built from digitised archival material: museum collections, medical archives, 18th century textbooks, 19th and early 20th century photography, mid-century ephemera magazines, pulp fiction and pop culture ephemera. The quotations span literary classics, poetry and contemporary pop music. As the project developed, the collected images resolved into a theme drawn from the lurid, sensuous and esoteric.
